General: Steam Pressure Reducing Valves (PRV)

How to Inventory:
- PRV’s are designed for regulating the downstream pressure and maintaining it within certain acceptable limits.
- PRV’s are “Inventory Required” for 2” and above.
How to establish Condition:
- PRV’s have a 20 year life-cycle and are often being repaired and replaced on a much shorter cycle
- Determine installation date with educated estimate.
- Visually inspect for leaks, deterioration and pressure ranges upstream and downstream, as well as condition of the compressor supplying control air.
