The UC ICAMP Portfolio Hierarchy

The first building block in the ICAMP framework is the UC Portfolio Hierarchy, which refers to how the physical portfolio is organized and represented with the ICAMP platform.  The illustrations below step through the hierarchical classification and organization of the UC portfolio.

The UC is at the top of the hierarchy

Campuses & Locations (Property)

  • UC is then separated out into each individual campus or location

Buildings and Structures

  • All campus buildings and each infrastructure system that has been assessed are contained under the campus location

Building Floors

  • Each building in the portfolio contains a floor inventory and shows the standard floor, roof and basement if it exists.

Building Spaces

  • Each floor then contains spaces or rooms that make up the floor.

Note: At this time, only UC Berkeley has an up-to-date inventory of spaces in Tririga.  All other locations use a local space management system to manage their space inventory and assignments.

Building System Items (BSIs-Assets)

  • Each building or infrastructure system is the primary repository for the asset inventory
    • NOTE:
      • Building System Item (BSI)  is the name that Tririga uses to refer to the asset
      • A majority of the assets at each facility were inventoried during the initial Facility Condition Assessment (FCA)

Opportunities

  • Opportunities represent activities that can be done to an asset or the building or infrastructure system.
    • Deferred Maintenance Opportunities (DM):  refer to assets that have been assessed and are in need of repair or replacement.  A majority of the opportunities in the system are DM and were discovered during the Facility Condition Assessment and are directly associated with the inventoried asset
    • Capital Improvement Opportunities:  refer to larger projects that improve the facility or its assets
    • Code Update:  refer to projects or activities that have been identified to bring a facility or asset up to code
    • Upgrade:  refer to projects or activities that have been identified that upgrade an existing asset or facility
