Creating a Manual Cost Estimate

The following article instructs (FCA) Inspectors how to create a Manual Cost Estimate.

1. Creating a Manual Cost Estimate

When a Cost Assembly is not available or the available assemblies are not reflective of the costs an Inspector is trying to capture, Inspectors may create a Manual Cost Estimate. To create a Manual Cost Estimate the Inspector will need to determine the number of Labor Hours the work will take, the Labor Rate that should be applied to those hours, and the expected costs of the Materials and any Equipment required to perform the work.

The Manual Cost Estimate will create a Total Cost and then apply the Geo Index to localize the cost.

Like regular Assembly Cost Estimates, Inspectors may also add Cost Adders to a Manual Cost Estimate.

A. Go to the Solution Estimate of the Opportunity, which will bring up the Estimate Manager. Scroll to the Cost Estimate section of the Estimate Manager form and click the Add button.

2. Updating the Manual Cost Estimate Line Item

A. Go to the Cost Estimate Details section of the Cost Estimate Unit Line Item form and ensure the correct quantity of the BSII is entered in the Quantity field.

B. Go to the Manual Line Item section. Ensure the following fields have the necessary information:

  1. The estimated labor hours for the estimate in the Labor (hours) field.
  2. The per hour labor rate in the Labor Rate (per hour) field.
  3. All potential materials costs in the Material field
  4. All potential equipment costs in the Equipment field.

C. You may add Cost Adders to the Manual Estimate if necessary by clicking the Quick Add button
